Cinnamon rolls--a recipe

It's a throwback favorite of my childhood, cinnamon rolls. On Christmas morning.

This year we had these.

Cinnamon Rolls (overnight and with a bread machine)

Heat 1 cup of milk and 1/3 cup of butter in a saucepan.

Pour into bread machine. Add 1/2 cup of sugar, 4 1/2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 3 eggs, 2 1/2 teaspoons of yeast--in that order. Select on dough setting. Push start. Check from time to time to push down sides.

After mix and rise cycle, stretch it out on a floured surface and rub down with unsalted butter. Mix 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon. Sprinkle over surface, making sure to get to the edges. Roll up. Slice into 12 sections. Put in greased baking dish, lightly cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate overnight.

In the morning, let it wake up on the counter for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 375. Then bake for 25 minutes.

For the icing:

3 tablespoons milk, 1 1/2 cups of 10x sugar, 2 1/2 ounces cream cheese. Mix well. Spread over rolls out of the oven.

Merry Christmas!
